Activities for the family in Salou and surroundings
Travelling with children and you want them to be happy and entertained?
You have reached the perfect destination! In Salou and in its surrounding area you won’t have time to get bored.
Do what you really want to do as long as it makes you happy. At CYE Holiday Centre we propose all the plans for activities for families in Salou that will make that happen:
Let’s go to the beach…
Hotel in Salou near the beach. Salou has over 4 km of fine sand beaches. Their clean, shallow waters make them ideal for your kids to safely splash around in. The beaches are fully equipped with everything you need for your family holidays: play areas, showers, bathrooms, coastguard and lifeguard centres and, of course, the typical beach-bars. The installations and infrastructures on these beaches are certified by the Family Tourism Destination certificate awarded by Catalonia Tourism, which Salou has had for many years now.
In Salou you will find three large beaches, Levante Beach, Poniente Beach and Larga Beach; and some coves that should not be missed: cala Capellans, cala Llenguadets near the centre, and the coves further away in the Cape Salou area: Crancs, Penya Tallada, Font and Vinya.
So… shall we have a dip?

Discover our surroundings...
And if you still want more, Salou and the Costa Daurada offer their visitors a multitude of places and beautiful spots that are perfect to be discovered with all the family. These are our favourites:
Paseo Jaime I: 1km long with 365 palm trees, the same as the days of the year, is the Costa Dorada’s par excellence promenade. Here you will find many play zones for kids as well as water game areas, cybernetic fountains (among which we would highlight the Lighted Fountain) with water, light and sound shows. Moreover, throughout the season, there are many cultural events, shows, performances for all publics. A stroll by the sea that will not leave you indifferent.
Salou’s coastal route: this trail joins the Pilons area (at the end of the promenade) with the Salou Lighthouse located in Cape Salou. An incredible walk, skirting the coast, adapted for all publics, in which you will discover amazing spots along the Salou coast. And if you dare to, you can continue the trail walking or cycling along the coast to neighbouring Cambrils 6km away!
Roman Tarraco: Do you want to travel back in time and live a day in the purist Roman style? In Tarragona, just 10km from Salou, you can make this dream come true. Tarraco, as the ancient Romans called it, was an extremely important Roman settlement in the Peninsula during the Roman Empire. And the ruins, perfectly preserved, show this. It is therefore not surprising that the UNESCO declared it a World Heritage site in the year 2000. Don’t miss the guided visits offered by the Tarragona Tourist Board or Tarragona’s National Archaeological Museum with very interesting archaeological remains full of history and anecdotes. Ah! And during the month of May you will be able to experience this in a much more intensive way thanks to the Tarraco Viva Festival. Your kids will love it¡
- Modernist Route in Reus: another important city near Salou. Reus is 10km away and it is perfectly communicated with Salou thanks to the bus line. Reus was an important commercial city during the XIX century and the start of the XX century, and the influence of the modernist style marked the city. Just like Barcelona, there are many modernist buildings that are well worth visiting given their great beauty. Reus City Hall proposes interesting guided visits to discover these modernist enclaves, culminating in a visit to the Gaudi Centre, completely dedicated to modernism and the figure of Gaudí.
- Barcelona: another essential place. If you are travelling to Salou, don’t forget to dedicate one day to this spectacular city. Discovering Barcelona with the family will be a day to be remembered: visit the Sagrada Familia or the Parque Güell, stroll along La Ramblas, the Gothic District or Paseo de Gracia with its incredible modernist buildings, taste the culinary bonanzas offered in the Boqueria Market, go to the Wax Museum, the Aquarium, the Zoo or to Tibidabo, some of the many places that will surprise you in Barcelona. And, of course, for football lovers, the must-do visit to FC Barcelona’s football stadium: Camp Nou. http://www.barcelonaturisme.com/wv3/es/
- The Delta del Ebro Natural Park: If you like nature, don’t miss this excursion. Located on the mouth of the River Ebro, 60km from Salou, it has been declared a Biosphere Reserve by the UNESCO. An incredible place with never-ending beaches and unprecedented nature spots. You can sail on a boat along the river mouth, go on bike excursions among rice fields, the multitude of bird species that inhabit this area or eat exquisite rice and fish dishes in the restaurants along the Delta.
